Mrs. James Kent Hull of Greenwood announces the engagement and upcoming marriage of her daughter, Ellen Lawrence Hull of Madison, to John Hilton Black of Madison, son of Jan Colbert Black of Canton and Robert Terace Black III of Canton. Miss Hull is also the daughter of the late James Kent Hull of Greenwood.
Grandparents of the prospective bridegroom are the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Terace Black Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank W. Colbert Jr.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. George Ellett Lawrence of Greenwood and the late Mr. Lawrence and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ray Hull of Vaiden and the late Sylvia Allen Hand of DeKalb.
Miss Hull is an honors graduate of Pillow Academy. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Mississippi State University, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She received a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Mississippi. She graduated cum laude from the University of Mississippi Medical Center with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She is a registered nurse at Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital in Jackson.
The prospective bridegroom graduated from Madison Central and Mississippi State University with a Bachelor in Business Administration degree. While at Mississippi State, he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He is employed as the logistics coordinator with KLLM Transport Services in Richland.
The wedding will be at 6 p.m. on May 19 at First Presbyterian Church in Greenwood with the Rev. Dr. Rusty Douglas officiating.
