Mary Hicks of Greenwood announces the engagement and upcoming wedding of her daughter, Amanda Lenor Hicks of Greenwood, to Odie Ray Smith of Greenwood.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Melva Smith and the late Terry Smith.
He is the grandson of the late Odie Glenn, Madie Glenn of Greenwood and LC Smith and the late Altha Smith.
The bride-elect is the daughter of the late Clifford Hicks Jr.
She is the granddaughter of the late Joseph and Mary Kate Haddon and the late Arthur and Pearl Hicks.
Miss Hicks is a 2001 graduate of Maranatha Christian Academy and a 2006 honor graduate of Mississippi Delta Community College, where she received an associate’s degree in accounting and an associate’s degree in office systems technology.
She is employed by Quality Medical Equipment.
Mr. Smith attended Greenwood High School.
He is employed by Mobile Glass Co.
The couple will exchange vows at 4 p.m. June 19, 2010, at Greenwood Church of God.
The Rev. James McElroy will officiate at the ceremony.
A reception will follow in the church’s Fellowship Hall.
