Mr. and Mrs. Walter Harris Jr. of Greenwood announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Felicia Maxine Harris, to Timothy Roosevelt Ginn of Indianola.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of the late Roosevelt and Willella Gin Hill. He is the grandson of the late Amos and Linnie Langston Hill Sr. and the late Lieutenant and Elizabeth Ray Ginn.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Angeline Harris of Greenwood and the late Walter Harris Sr. and the late Lucious and Mary Lee Stanley.
Miss Harris is a 1999 graduate of Amanda Elzy High School and a 2008 graduate of Mississippi Valley State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She is employed at Claudine Brown Elementary School as a first-grade teacher. She is a member of the National Education Association, Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority and Jerusalem Church of God in Christ, where she serves as assistant choir director. She has one daughter, Alexandrea Alyssa Harris.
Mr. Ginn is a 1993 graduate of Humphrey County High School and a 1998 graduate of Mississippi Valley State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. In 2004, he received a Master of Science degree in elementary education at Valley. He is the assistant principal at Ruleville Central High School and the athletic director for Sunflower County School District. He is a member of the National Association of Secondary School Principals, Mississippi Association of Secondary Principals, Mississippi Athletic Administrators Association, Phi Beta Sigma fraternity and Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Louise. He has one daughter, Timesea Ravon Ginn.
The couple will exchange vows at 3 p.m. April 27 at St. Luke Church of God in Christ. The Rev. Frank Martin, pastor of Jerusalem Church of God in Christ, will officiate. A closed reception will follow at the Greenwood Leflore County Civic Center.
