Susan Arrah Grant of Stockbridge, Georgia, and Mr. Franklin Joseph Thomas of Suwanee, Georgia, were united in marriage on May 13, 2017, at The Farm of High Shoals in Bishop, Georgia.
The Rev. Dr. John V. Callahan Jr. officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Allen Grant of Stockbridge, Georgia. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Spencer H. Grant and the late Violet Lawley.
The groom is the son of Nikki Ellett Thomas and Balos Wilson Thomas of Greenwood. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Ellett and Cynthia Thomas, all of Greenwood, and the late B.W. Thomas.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory lace Enzoani mermaid-style gown featuring an illusion back and full train. The bride’s attire was complete with a cathedral-length ivory veil.
Attending the bride as matron of honor was her sister, Georgene Grant Sneed.
The bridesmaids were Stephanie Grant of Southridge, Georgia; Brittney Thomas of West Helena, Arkansas; Kati Dunn and Janel Dunn, both of New Orleans; Erin Kilfoyle of Stockbridge, Georgia; Kristen Shadle of Memphis; Laurie Smith of Starkville; and Lauren White of Ellenwood.
The bridesmaids wore floor-length chiffon dresses in spring pastel colors.
The flower girl was McKenley Sneed, niece of the bride. She entered the wedding scene in an antique, handmade cart decorated with white satin ribbons and baby’s breath flowers. The cart was pulled by the bride’s nephews Spencer and S.J. Grant.
Kelsey Campbell and Dakota Gammage were vocalists, and the bride’s cousin, Bryan Dunn, sang The Lord’s Prayer.
Tommy Ellett, grandfather of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Markus Thomas of West Helena, Arkansas; Ellett Thomas of Greenwood; Spencer Allen Grant Jr. of Southridge, Georgia; John Rhea of Memphis; Hayes Johnson of Birmingham, Alabama; David Kendrick of Pell City, Alabama; Arron Peay of Ackerman; and Mike Melcher of Tupelo.
The wedding reception, hosted by the bride’s parents, took place at The Farm of High Shoals. Music was provided by Hal Mealor with Halco Services.
On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Ellett, honored the couple with a rehearsal dinner at the Porterhouse Grill in Athens, Georgia.
Arrah is a graduate of Mississippi State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology with a concentration in clinical exercise physiology. She is pursuing a master’s degree in occupational therapy at Brenau University and is employed as a dance instructor.
Joseph is a graduate of Mississippi State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. He is employed by Maxxis Tire Company as a tire design and development engineer and is also the owner of the personal pit crew company Corsa Crew, LLC.
The couple will make their home in Suwanee, Georgia.
