Mr. and Mrs. Burke Lee Ellzey of Hattiesburg announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter, Margaret Claire, to Jonathan Robert Nichols.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Russell Nichols of Greenwood.
He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Clyde Rutledge and Elizabeth Nichols of Doddsville and the late Paul Cecil Nichols.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Watson Dreher of Gulfport and the late Mr. and Mrs. Alton Lee Ellzey.
Miss Ellzey is a 2002 special honors graduate of Hattiesburg High School. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2006, where she earned a bachelor's degree in biology. She earned her doctorate in dental medicine in May 2010 from The University of Mississippi School of Dentistry and will begin practicing general dentistry in Jackson following the wedding.
Mr. Nichols is a 2000 honors graduate of Pillow Academy, and he received a bachelor's degree from the University of Mississippi in international business.
He was the 2003 Lou Groza Award recipient, recognizing college football's most outstanding kicker, and was named as a 2003 first team all-American while serving on the Ole Miss Football Team. He will attend The University of Mississippi School of Dentistry in August.
The couple will exchange vows at 6 p.m. July 10, 2010, at Temple Baptist Church East in Hattiesburg. A reception will follow at the Hattiesburg Historic Train Depot.
