The chiming of the hour announced the arrival of the bride, who was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She wore a Justin Alexander A-line design in alabaster with a fitted bodice of gold-beaded lace on tulle with a sweetheart neckline and cap sleeves. A chapel-length train flowed from the V-back of the bodice, with lace-covered buttons extending the length of the train. A cathedral-length veil with beading detail at the edges complemented the gown.
The bride carried a traditional hand-tied bouquet of hydrangeas, peonies, tulips, patience garden roses, ranunculus and viburnum, all in shades of white, accented with English ivy.

The bridal attendants each wore a latte chiffon gown designed by Bill Levkoff. Criss-crossed ruching shaped the bodice, which featured a soft sweetheart neckline and pleated shoulder straps. The A-line skirt was gathered in soft pleats in the front.
Serving as flower girls were JonHartley Slater, Amy Moss Carpenter, Martha Fratesi Carpenter and Lilly Grace Thomas. Ring-bearers were Nathan Ross Slater and Michael Patrick Martin. The bride’s cake was a five-tiered white confection with buttercream icing that matched the lace on the bridal gown. The groom’s cake was a chocolate model of the State Capitol Building in Jackson.
Upon leaving the reception, the newlyweds descended the steps of the historic building in a shower of garden rose petals to a white limousine. After a honeymoon at Sandals Regency La Toc Resort and Spa in St. Lucia, the couple is at home in Ridgeland, where the bride is employed as a speech language pathologist at a pediatric clinic, and the groom is employed as the legislative director in the office of the Mississippi Secretary of State.
