Arleneta Denise Criss and Howard Develle Whitehead were united in marriage at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 14, 2009, at Word of Faith Baptist Church in Greenwood.
The Rev. Aaron Brow officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Carrie Stewart of Greenwood.
The groom is the son of Annette Smith of Atlanta and Howard Dean of Greenwood.
A reception was held immediately following the ceremony at the Leflore County Civic Center, where guests enjoyed cocktails and dinner.
The bride is a 1997 graduate of J.Z. George High School. She received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice in 2006 and a master's degree in criminal justice in 2007, both from Mississippi Valley State University.
She currently is working toward a master's degree in psychology.
The groom is a 1997 graduate of Greenwood High School. He received a degree in accounting from Ashers School of Business in Atlanta.
He is employed as an electrician.
