Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mendell Courtney of Greenwood announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Janna Claire Courtney, to Sean Lyle Sanford.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Breland of Houston, Texas, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Gene Sanford.
He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Osborne Jones of Brandon and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Lyle Sanford.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mrs. Jane Courtney, the late Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Courtney and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Makamson.
Miss Courtney is a 2005 graduate of Pillow Academy and a 2010 graduate of Mississippi State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She is employed by the Office of Development and Alumni at Mississippi State University.
Mr. Sanford is a 2003 graduate of Starkville Academy and a 2011 graduate of Mississippi State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is employed by Newk’s Eatery in Starkville.
The couple will exchange vows Oct. 19 at the Hewlett Barn at Woodside Estates in Starkville.
