Lauren Elizabeth Bussey and Jesse Bledsoe Cogswell were united in marriage at 6 p.m. on June 11, 2016, at East Ivy Mansion in Nashville, Tennessee. The Rev. George Stull officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Michael Bussey Sr. of Greenwood.
The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Gireud Cogswell of Nashville.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore chic organza fit-and-flare Maggie Sottero gown, which was adorned with Swarovski crystals, pearls and sequins. The dress was finished with dramatic sweetheart neckline and a deep scoop back with crystal buttons over the zipper and inner closure.
She carried a bouquet of light pink peonies, white roses, white mini calla lilies and white spray roses wrapped in lace from her mother’s wedding gown.
Kristi Bussey of Greenwood and Melanie Wilkerson of Petrey, Alabama, attended the bride as matrons of honor.
Bridesmaids were Mary Carter Bussey, Kaitlyn Bussey, Chrissy Grantham, Carla Burgess and Laura Gore, all of Greenwood; Ali Gensert, Seraphine Schomber and Sara Vaughn, all of Nashville; and Brenda Thomas of Waynesville, North Carolina.
Harper Dean of Nashville served as flower girl.
Serving the groom as best man was Paul McCachern of Nashville.
Groomsmen were Michael Bussey Jr. of Greenwood; David Souksavath, Josh Minshall, Brandon Fletcher, Scott Muller and Rico Phillips, all of Nashville; Chris Reynolds of San Francisco; Nathan Jones of New York; Clint Hughey of Denver, Colorado; and Matt Boyling of Tarpon Springs, Florida.
Michael Bussey III of Greenwood was the ring bearer.
Ushers were Austin Winter and Russ Wilkerson.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Leah Blevins and Nick Goss, both of Nashville.
The flowers and arrangements were provided by Pat Kelly of Itta Bena, and the photography was provided by The Exposure Studios of Nashville.
A reception followed the ceremony at East Ivy Mansion. Music was provided by Premier Entertainment.
The food was catered by Copper Kettle of Nashville.
The bride’s cake was white cupcakes with almond-flavored buttercream icing wrapped in tulip liners displayed on a seven-tier stand. The cupcakes were by Gwen Toomey of Itta Bena. The cake table was decorated with white hydrangeas, lilies and white roses and featured pictures of the bride’s parents and groom's parents cutting their cakes on their wedding days.
The bride received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Delta State University. She earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in counselor education and supervision from the University of Tennessee.
The groom received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Middle Tennessee State University.
After exchanging nuptials, the couple is at home in Beaumont, Texas.
