Mr. and Mrs. Walter Guy Burkhalter Jr. of Indianola announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Kathryn Amelia Burkhalter, to Williams Matthew Pittman.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Earl Pittman of Greenwood.
He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wayne Terrell and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jud Ray Pittman.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Hulbert Lipe of Indianola and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Guy Burkhalter.
Miss Burkhalter is a graduate of Indianola Academy and Mississippi State University. She is also a graduate of the University of Mississippi, where she received a master’s degree in communicative sciences and disorders.
She is employed as a speech-language pathologist for Progressive Rehab Inc., working within a skilled nursing setting in Oxford.
Mr. Pittman is a graduate of Pillow Academy and the University of Mississippi, where he received a bachelor’s degree in human resources management.
He is employed by Mechanics Bank of Oxford.
The couple will exchange vows on July 17, 2010, at North Oxford Baptist Church in Oxford.
