Mr. and Mrs. Mickey LeRoy Black of Greenwood announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Molly Simmons Black, to Brien Austin Blakeney of Brandon.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Pamela Hall Blakeney of Pensacola, Florida, and Brien Craft Blakeney of Flowood. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Wesley Hall of Brandon, and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kenneth Blakeney of Flowood.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Rudolph Melborn Simmons of Inverness and the late Melborn Simmons, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Upton Black of Sidon.
Miss Black is a 2008 graduate of Pillow Academy. She graduated in 2012 from Mississippi State University, with a bachelor’s degree in communications. Miss Black is employed with Pearl Public School District as a fourth grade teacher.
Mr. Blakeney is a 2008 graduate of Madison-Ridgeland Academy. He graduated from Mississippi State University in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in business management and communication. Mr. Blakeney is vice president of field operations with B and B Electrical and Utility Contractors.
The couple will exchange vows at 6 p.m. on June 6 at First Presbyterian Church in Greenwood. The Rev. Rusty Douglas will officiate. The reception will follow at the Greenwood Country Club.
