Carolyn Pitts of Greenwood and Sylvester Clark of Drew have announced the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Persephone Bishop of Greenwood, to Tommy Lowe, also of Greenwood.
Mr. Lowe is the son of Regina Lowe of Greenwood.
He is the grandson of Essie Ivey of Greenwood.
Miss Bishop is the granddaughter of Alford Brock of Dallas and the late Mary Johnson.
The bride-elect is a 2000 graduate of Amanda Elzy High School. She received a bachelor's degree in social work from Mississippi Valley State University in 2005. She currently is pursuing a master's degree in community counseling at Delta State University and is expected to graduate in December.
She is employed as an SMI case manager with Life Help Mental Health Center.
The prospective bridegroom is a 1997 graduate of Greenwood High School. He currently is pursuing a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and is expected to graduate in May 2009.
He is employed at Coca Cola Enterprises.
The couple will exchange vows at 4 p.m. July 5, 2008, at Salem Missionary Baptist Church. The doors of the church will be locked once the ceremony begins.
The Rev. Cedric Reed will officiate.
A reception will be held following the ceremony at the Confederate Memorial Building.
Friends and relatives of the couple are invited and a special invitation is extended to members of the Amanda Elzy High School class of 2000 and the Greenwood High School class of 1997.
