The Rev. and Mrs. Billy D. Allen of Dennis announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Gayla Dean Allen, to Keith Reagan Conner.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of the Mr. and Mrs. Fred Conner of Carroll County.
He is the grandson of Garland Campbell and Stella Campbell of Greenwood and the late John William Conner and Carrie Baker Conner of Sidon.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Rev. Louie Winters and Geneva Winters of Charleston and the late Vester Allen and Ollie Cleo Allen of Dennis.
Miss Allen is a 2004 graduate of Belmont High School and a 2008 graduate of Mississippi State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in animal science.
She attends Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, where she plans to graduate in 2013 with her doctor of veterinary medicine.
Mr. Conner is a 1995 graduate of Cruger-Tchula Academy and 1999 graduate of Mississippi State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in sociology.
He attended the Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Academy, where he graduated as a state trooper in December 2003.
Mr. Conner is employed by the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol as a state trooper.
The couple will exchange vows at 5 p.m. July 9, 2011, at Calvary Baptist Church in Greenwood.
The reception will be held in the fellowship hall at the church following the ceremony.
