Mississippi Valley State University’s Career Services Center is hosting its 2019 Internship/Career Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday on the concourse level of the R.W. Harrison Complex.
More than 40 companies have registered to attend the annual event, designed for current MVSU students and alumni looking to explore career options and network with employers in a variety of industries.
According to MVSU Director of Career Services Essie Bryant, companies such as Walgreens, ConvergeOne, and the Greenwood Leflore Consolidated School District will be among the many returning to this year’s event. Other companies, such as Nissan, will be joining the event for the first time.
“Our main goal is to help students obtain full-time, part-time or internship opportunities and form relationships with employers that will help them in the future,” Bryant said.
Mock interviews will be conducted on-site to help individuals prepare for and build confidence for future interviews.
Professional attire is recommended for those planning to attend.
In addition to graduating seniors, Bryant said the event can benefit students who are not graduating this year but want to explore internship opportunities or get a head start exploring careers available to them after graduation.
“We’ve had students to attend the assistant manager trainee classes with Walgreens who were able to work part time and go to school,” said Bryant. “We encourage students of all classifications to attend the event to learn more about the opportunities available to them.”
