Greenwood-based dance team Virtuous Divine will host its annual BuckWild competition, which will be filmed for an upcoming episode of Lifetime’s “Bring It!”
The event will be held at the Washington County Convention Center, located at 1040 S. Raceway Road in Greenville.
Doors will open at noon, and the show will start at 2 p.m.
“Bring It!” follows the Dancing Dolls of Jackson, one of the country’s preeminent dance troupes, and takes viewers into the world of competitive majorette-style dancing.
Housed in Virtuous Divine Dance Productions studio on West Park Avenue, the VDDP girls are led by Fulvia Ford.
Because the team is hosting the event, Virtuous Divine will not compete. The Greenwood dance troupe which is known for its creativity, however, will present a special performance during the show.
BuckWild will feature pom and stand battle competitions, and participating teams will be the Dancing Dolls; Dazzlin Starz of Quitman County; Xplosive Dance Team of Dallas, Texas; and Delta Jewels of Greenville.
Ford said the competition will be aired during episode seven of season three. “Bring It!” recently wrapped up its second season in October as Lifetime’s most-watched Friday night program.
Tickets are $10 before the event and $15 at the door. Tickets are available at Garfield’s Restaurant in the Greenville mall, online at www.virtuousdivine.com or by calling Ford at 299-3815.
Those who are under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Lifetime said that by attending the event, you are agreeing that your image and voice may be recorded and used in all media, including advertising and promotion of the program.
Virtuous Divine, formerly known as Virtue Dance Studio, was created by Ford about six years ago. Since the team started competing, it has placed at almost every event, including earning grand champion, the highest honor in the dance competitions.
