Carroll County residents interested in attending the Carroll County Development Association’s annual meeting can reserve a spot now.
The deadline to make reservations is Wednesday.
The annual meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on June 22 at Charlie Ray’s Grilled Groceries, located on U.S. 82. The theme for the evening is “A Salute to Music.” J.Z. George Band Director Lane Thompson will speak on the school’s band program, which will be followed by a presentation on the impact of the Music Trails program in Mississippi.
Some of the projects the association has sponsored include the Carrollton Pilgrimage, Student of the Month for local schools, teacher appreciation awards, meal, nature and walking trails in North Carrollton and Vaiden and the planning of the recreation park in North Carrollton.
The Carroll County Development Association is a nonprofit organization that works to promote economic and social welfare for the citizens of Carroll County. The association also works with other county organizations.
Dues and donations are tax deductible and are $25 per person each year. Dues can be mailed to CCDA, P.O. Box 561, Carrollton, MS 38917 or may be paid at the annual meeting.
The current Carroll County Development Association’s Board of Directors are Sugar Mullins and George Johnson, representing Beat 1; Tommy Rayburn and Pam Lee, representing Beat 2; Steve Anderson and Sandy McKay, representing Beat 3; Harry Hart and George Shackelford, representing Beat 4; Lemon Cunningham and Grace Voorhees, representing Beat 5; and Bernard Taylor, who represents the county at large. Several of the board positions will be voted on during the meeting.
