As we approach September, all our thoughts are turned to the 30th annual 300 Oaks Road Races!
This year marks a milestone for us; it’s hard to believe that we’ve been doing this event for 30 years. That’s a long time, but it’s a testament to the success of the event and how well it has been received over the years.
This year, we want to encourage more team entries than ever before.
How do you put a team together? Well, it’s easy.
For corporate teams, you only need a mininum of five team members. Corporate teams must consist of 5 co-workers who work at the same company and or their immediate family members.
In the past, we’ve had teams as large at 200, and teams as small as 10 or 12.
All corporate teams are entered into the 5K Walk and will compete for various awards, including largest team and fastest team.
We also offer team rates for youth and church teams.
The team rate is $12 per person, which is a real bargain compared to the individual race rate.
Your entry fee gets you a spot in the race, a goody bag with a great-looking t-shirt and other happies, and free food and beverages at the post-race party. You can’t beat that deal.
We hope that every business, church and youth group out there will enter a team in this year’s race.
We are taking team entries at the Chamber — you must do them in person.
If you need help entering your team, just come by or give us a call and we’ll be happy to help you organize your paperwork and get your team signed up.
It’s a great way to get together outside of work in a team-inspired atmosphere and get together with your co-workers and family members for a morning of fun and fitness.
Some teams even go so far as to have their own special t-shirts designed to be worn at the event.
It’s fun to see all the creativity involved in organizing a 300 Oaks team.
The 5K Walk is sanctioned by the Mississippi Track Club, as is the 10K Run. We also offer a 5K Run and a One-Mile Fun Run, so there’s something for everyone.
