Three of the six remaining Greenwood area basketball teams still in the playoffs will be in action Thursday.
The Leflore County boys will take on Shaw High School at 5:30 p.m. in the semifinals of the Region 6-1A Tournament at Simmons High School.
The Tigers are 21-3 overall and went 10-0 in region play during the regular season. Shaw advanced with a win over South Delta Wednesday.
The Amanda Elzy boys are in action at 5:30 p.m. against Thomas E. Edwards (Ruleville) in the semifinals of the Region 3-3A Tournament at Humphreys County High School.
The J.Z. George girls take on Northside High School at 4 p.m. in the semis of the Region 3-2A Tournament in North Carrollton.
The Lady Jags opened the tournament with a 58-44 win over M.S. Palmer Tuesday night. Jamiya Leahman had 17 points, and Kiyunna Ward had 14 points. Kyndale Edwards tacked on 13.
J.Z. George boys: The Jaguars were eliminated with a 77-72 defeat to Palmer. Brodrick Green had 13 points, and Nick Lacey chipped in nine. They end their season at 10-14 overall.
Amanda Elzy girls: The Lady Panthers had their season come to a halt with a 46-27 loss to Humphreys County Wednesday.
Rylee Collins and Chrissiuanna McNelson had seven points each, and Mariyah Prayer had six points.
Leflore County girls: The Lady Tigers dropped a 44-32 decision to Riverside at the Region 6-1A Tournament Wednesday.
Jakeriyah Stockstill had 10 points, six rebounds and two steals, and Zy’kerriah Whigham had eight points and four steals for Leflore (1-24). Cadence Spruell had seven points and two steals, and Olivia Hilton had five points, five steals and two assists.
Greenwood High: The Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs both suffered losses in the semifinals of the Region 4-4A Tournament Tuesday.
The boys (17-10) lost 64-61 to Yazoo City. Frederrick Ford had 20 points, and Keyshawn Harris tallied 19. Jeremiah Kendrick finished with 10.
The Bulldogs take on Louisville at 5:30 p.m. Friday in the third-place game.
The Lady Bulldogs (12-16) dropped a 56-39 decision to Louisville. Jakeriyah Brown had nine points, and Damia Harris finished with eight. Se’nyah Smith had seven points.
