Pillow Academy went 3-1 in games played Friday and Saturday in girls fastpitch softball action.
The Lady Mustangs (7-2) played three games Saturday at the Copiah Academy Tournament. They beat Bowling Green 8-1 in their first contest as Rivers Carroll got the win in the circle, going four innings, allowing one run on four hits.
Pillow, which scored two runs in the first and three each in the second and third, was led by JB Garrett, who had two singles and drove in three runs. Anna Grace Rice had a single and three RBIs, and Izzy Hodges had two singles.
Addison Weems had a single and scored two runs, and Brennan Neal had a double, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs. Allie Beck and Ann Rogers Crowder had a single each. Kylee Nix, serving as a courtesy runner, scored two runs.
Pillow dropped an 8-0 decision to Jackson Prep as it could only muster two hits. Weems and Neely Jordan had a single each.
Rice took the loss as she went 41/3 innings, yielding eight runs on nine hits, walking three and fanning two.
Pillow knocked off Simpson Academy 11-5 as Weems had two doubles and a triple, scored three runs and drove in four. Neal had two singles and a double, three RBIs and scored a run.
Rice and Lillie Flautt tacked on an RBI single each, and Jamie Shake had a single. Jordan scored two runs.
Carroll got the win in the circle, going four innings, allowing all five runs on six hits, walking one.
In a game from Friday, Pillow beat Central Holmes 16-1 by scoring five runs in the first, two in the second, three in the third and six in the fourth.
Weems had a single and double, scored four times and drove in two runs. Crowder had a single and double and one RBI, and Carroll had two singles and an RBI.
Emma Claire Tanner had a single, double and scored two runs, and Garrett had a double, scored a run and drove in two runs. Anna Flowers Hamrick had a triple, two RBIs and scored a run, and Neal had a single and scored twice. Hodges and Beck had a single and RBI apiece, and Shake, Flautt and Madeline Carroll had a single and scored a run each.
Pillow, which played host to Starkville Academy Monday, visits Bayou Academy Wednesday. The varsity game starts at 6:30 p.m.
