JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — A Jackson city councilman and others are exploring the idea of a curfew for youth as a way of curbing crime.
Councilman Kenneth Stokes plans a Thursday evening public hearing for residents to provide input, WLBT-TV reported.
The curfew would apply to people 18, Stokes said. It would go into effect at 10 p.m. during the week, at midnight on the weekends, and also during school hours.
The proposed curfew was introduced to the city council last week, WLBT reported. It is expected to be voted on early next year.
