I am writing this in reference to Greenwood Leflore Hospital. I would like to let our citizens know about my experience there the month of October of this year and to let it be known how much the hospital is greatly needed here.
I was diagnosed with a small bowel perforation and also a bowel obstruction. Without the prompt treatment of the emergency room team, I would not be here. My condition would not allow me the time to reach any other hospital around. Immediate care within a few hours was urgent.
Dr. Ray Girnys was my surgeon here seven years ago when I was treated for colon cancer and for the bowel surgery. A few years ago Dr. Roderick Givens’ radiation team treated me for rectal cancer. Dr. Richard Goldberg, my gastroenterologist, diagnosed both conditions.
All of the prompt and accurate diagnoses have saved my life on several occasions. People such as me have no time to travel to another hospital. We need this hospital!
I know there are many people here like me. Greenwood Leflore Hospital has been our life savior.
During my recent visit, the 4th Floor nurses and doctors were so compassionate and caring. It was such a great experience for me, and I want the public to know this.
We need to fight for our hospital.
