The Greenwood Little Theatre is calling all Hortons, Whos, Things One and Things Two to its auditions for “Seussical, Jr.”
Director Christine Hampton said she is hoping to cast around 100 children ages 6 to 18 and some students up to age 21 to fill out the cast and crew for the hourlong musical.
“Seussical Jr.” blends numerous Dr. Seuss stories, including “The Cat in the Hat,” “Horton Hears a Who,” and “Horton Hatches an Egg,” among others, to create what Hampton called a musical extravaganza.
Hampton said adults are welcome to fill the crew positions, which will also include wrangling children backstage. People who don’t feel they have musical talent are also welcome to audition.
“We will find a place for you,” Hampton said.
Auditions for the musical will be held in Davis Auditorium, 400 Cotton St., Tuesday from 5-7 p.m., Friday from 4-6 p.m. and Feb. 4 from 10 a.m. to noon. Shows will run April 27-30.
Potential cast members are each asked to prepare a one-minute song to audition. Electronic and piano accompaniment will be available. Cast members will also be expected to learn a short dance number.
Hampton said the planned rehearsal times are Tuesdays and Thursdays after 5 p.m., but that there will be some flexibility after the cast is assembled.
