A Greenwood man has been missing for three weeks, and his family is looking for help in finding him.
Willie Owens, 76, was last seen Oct. 9 on Avenue L, according to his ex-wife, Dorothy Owens.
She said Owens lives with their son on Browning Road. “We don’t know if something happened to him or what,” she said.
She said Owens is always dressed nicely and was last seen wearing a brown shirt, gray slacks, gray shoes and a black hat.
She said that Owens is independent and able to take care of himself and regularly goes on walks on his own that can last a couple of hours. He always returns before evening, however, making his absence unusual.
“It’s not like him to not come back home,” she said.
After reporting him missing to both city and county authorities, she said she has not heard back from investigators and has become frustrated with the progress of the investigation.
Greenwood Police Chief Terrence Craft on Monday said he would talk with his investigator for an update. Anyone with information on Owens’ whereabouts is asked to call the police at 662-453-3311.
