Runoffs set in races for state high court, Court of Appeals

Some Mississippi voters head to the polls Tuesday to decide who should represent them on the state’s highest courts.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Absentee voting has begun, and in-person absentee voting at county circuit clerk’s offices ends at noon on Saturday.

Runoff still on track in race for circuit clerk

All absentee ballots have been counted, but the new vote totals will not change the destiny of the Leflore County circuit clerk’s race, which is headed for a two-candidate runoff.
Interim Circuit Clerk Johnny Gary Jr. and Jackie Lewis, who represents District 5 on the Greenwood Leflore Consolidated School Board, received the most votes.
