Mayoral candidates to answer questions May 20

The two candidates in Greenwood’s mayoral race will answer questions on Greenwood’s biggest issues in a public forum.
The forum, sponsored by the Greenwood-Leflore County Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for May 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Andrew McQueen Jr. Civic Center.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
