District 24 Senate race getting crowded

The race to fill the vacant District 24 Mississippi Senate seat is crowded, with five candidates having submitted qualifying papers ahead of Thursday’s deadline or expressed plans to do so.
The candidates include an educator, an activist, a chemist and two candidates with political experience.
