Stockstill: Voting machines did well

Leflore County’s first election with its new voting machines looks to have gone without a hitch.
“It was very successful,” said Circuit Clerk Elmus Stockstill. “I think for the most part, everything ran smoothly.”
Months of preparations paid off as precincts introducted the new DS200 machines to voters.

Littleton unseats Adams

James Littleton has unseated Leflore County Court Judge Kevin Adams, according to unofficial vote totals from Tuesday’s election.
Littleton, a Leflore County Justice Court judge, received 3,188 of the machine votes, or 61%. Adams took 2,050 votes, or 39%.

Milton, Fant apparently headed to runoff

The one contested seat on the Greenwood Leflore Consolidated School Board appears headed for a runoff.
In Tuesday’s election, former district coach Henry Fant received 47% of the vote in District 3 to lead incumbent Samantha Milton, who received 42%.
