Debra Tate Hibbler, a candidate for Leflore County chancery clerk, said she is confident in her second bid for that office.
Hibbler spoke to the Greenwood Voters League about her candidacy and qualifications Wednesday.

Sanders touts her experience as coroner

Seven-term Leflore County Coroner Debra Sanders made her pitch to keep serving in the job to the Greenwood Voters League on Wednesday.
“When you have selected a vocation of serving people, you have selected a vocation of loving people,” she said.
Sanders has one opponent in the Aug. 8 Democratic primary, April Polk.

Presley says he’d expand Medicaid immediately

Brandon Presley says that, if elected governor, he would expand Medicaid on his first day in office.
His comments came on a visit to Greenwood Saturday, made in between stops to Greenville and Grenada.

Chris Glass is running against Andrew McQueen for the position of Southern District constable. April Polk is facing Leflore County Coroner Debra Sanders.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
