If worries about COVID-19 and monkeypox were not enough, now comes the report that a case of polio has been discovered in New York, the first in this country in almost a decade.
Polio, which can cause irreversible paralysis, was nearly eradicated in the world. It’s been making a modest comeback, in part due to vaccine hesitancy.
