The high school football season ended too quickly for Greenwood-area teams, as the last two standing — Leflore County and J.Z. George — were eliminated Friday in their second-round contests.
For the players and their coaches, it’s disappointing whenever a season ends short of a championship. That’s the nature of athletic competition.
