The Greenwood-Leflore County Chamber of Commerce will present A Delta Dickens Christmas from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in downtown Greenwood. Here are the events happening throughout the day.
Schedule of Events
10 a.m.: ArtPlace Victorian Craft Village: Arts and crafts for adults and children for free. Located at the ArtPlace building and Staplcotn parking lot, 212 W. Washington St.
11 a.m.-2 p.m.: Balloon artist: Free balloon art for kids. Under the tent in front of 222 Howard St.
10 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: Horse-drawn carriage rides. Check in at the corner of Washington and Howard streets. A ride is $5 per person.
11-11:30 a.m.: Story time at The Alluvian. Free for kids of all ages. Kids who attend will receive a complimentary Christmas gift.
11 a.m.-1 p.m.: Free reindeer food-making station for kids outside Sprout Baby and Children’s Store, 309 Howard St.
Noon-12:45 p.m.: Singing Legionnaires from American Legion Post 29 will perform in front of Turnrow Book Co., 304 Howard St.
12:45-1:15 p.m.: Singing Legionnaires from American Legion Post 29 will perform at Howard & Marsh Exchange, 123 Main St.
Noon-2 p.m.: Cookies and cocoa at City Hall with Mayor Carolyn McAdams and the Greenwood City Council.
Ongoing: Old-fashioned English street cricket for all ages. This event is free to participate. At the corner of Washington and Howard streets beside Fincher’s Inc.
Ongoing: Sycamore Singers, caroling at the corner of Howard and Church streets.
Ongoing: Falling snow at The Alluvian.
Ongoing: Dickens characters will mix and mingle with shoppers/pedestrians. Some scenes from the play will take place at random.
