Murder trial delayed; jury pool too small

Leflore County’s jury problems emerged again Monday as another murder trial was postponed because not enough people showed up for jury duty.
James Cason, 23, was scheduled to go on trial on capital murder and conspiracy charges for the shooting death of 15-year-old Johnny Cage in June 2022.

Man gets 14 years for robbery

A Greenwood man has been sentenced Monday to 14 years in prison for robbing a man at gunpoint in 2022.
Demarcus Dunn, 35, pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy, armed robbery and kidnapping. As a part of his plea, a gun enhancement charge was dropped.
