3 charged in drive-by gunfire

Three Greenwood men have been arrested and charged for their alleged involvement in drive-by gunfire this past weekend.
Police Chief Terrence Craft said 19-year-old Robert Harrison Jr., 19-year-old Kenyatta Walker and 26-year-old Darius Yates, all of 315 W. Adams Ave., have each been charged with three counts of aggravated assault.

Sheriff says he expects to fill all deputy spots by October

First-year Leflore County Sheriff James Payne Sr. says law enforcement agencies all over are facing a shortage of officers.
“Don’t nobody want to be a police officer anymore,” Payne told the Greenwood Rotary Club Wednesday. “It’s too hard. We are the bad guys now.”
