The Carroll County Sheriff’s Department is asking the public to provide information about a Monday night robbery at the Dollar General in Black Hawk.
The Sheriff’s Department received a call around 9 p.m. Monday in reference to an armed robbery at the store, Sheriff Clint Walker said.
Store employees reported to deputies that two Black males wearing face coverings ran into the store and had the cash register opened. One of them had a handgun.
The suspects then left the store on foot and escaped in a waiting vehicle that was traveling south on Mississippi 17.
It was not clear how much money the two suspects took. Walker could not be reached for comment Wednesday afternoon.
A reward is being offered for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved. All tips will remain anonymous. Callers may contact the Sheriff’s Department at 662-237-9283 or CrimeStoppers at 800-222-8477 or Walker at 662-237-7233.
