Two men remained in the Carroll Montgomery Regional Correctional Facility Monday on charges of that they stole two all-terrain vehicles Friday, including one from a hunting camp at Teoc.
Dean Ray Parker, 36, and Lee Adam Hollingsworth, 37, both of Greenville, have been charged with grand larceny and burglary, according to Carroll County Sheriff Clint Walker. Hollingsworth has also been charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance.
Walker said that a complaint was received at 6 a.m. Friday about trespassing at the camp on private property near Teoc. He said deputies arrived and found both men leaving the area on ATVs.
He said a brief foot chase for Hollingsworth followed, and he was quickly apprehended. Parker escaped into the woods on his vehicle and deputies gave chase. Parker was apprehended on foot at approximately 11:30 a.m. Walker said the two men are accused of stealing an ATV from an area in the Mississippi Delta although he could not specify where. He alleged that the two men traveled on this ATV to the hunting camp in Teoc and robbed the camp of the second ATV, loading both vehicles with tools and supplies.
Judge Jimmy Avant set their bonds at $20,000 each.
