A Greenwood man who authorities believe was involved in a shooting that killed a cousin and wounded a brother has been returned to Leflore County after he fled to Alabama.
Edward Bush Jr., 22, 101 Canary Cove, has been charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder.
He was being held Monday at the Leflore County Jail. Bond had not been set.
Edward Bush is accused of shooting his cousin, 26-year-old Demontra Ewing, and his older brother, 26-year-old Demarius Bush. All three shared a home at the Canary Cove address.
On Aug. 30, Leflore County deputies responded at about 10:30 p.m. to a 911 call from Demarius Bush, who said he had been shot.
Demontra Ewing, a manager at Milwaukee Tool, was found dead at the scene from his injuries. De-marius Bush, an assistant principal and basketball coach at Coffeeville High School, was wounded but survived and has been recovering.
Sheriff Ricky Banks identified Edward Bush as the suspect in the shooting and issued a statewide warrant for his arrest.
Bush allegedly stole a vehicle on Sept. 1 in Hale County, Alabama, and was arrested without incident by Alabama law enforcement about 75 miles away in Dallas County on Sept. 4. On Thursday, Bush waived his right to an extradition hearing, allowing him to be returned to Leflore County.
Bush was delivered to the Leflore County Jail on Friday, according to the arrest docket.
