The Carroll County Sheriff’s Department has apprehended a Greenwood man suspected of burglary thanks to assistance from the department’s police dog.
Responding to a residential alarm around 5 a.m. Sunday from a residence at 805 Marshall Road, deputies found the home had been entered. A flat-screen TV had been taken, according to a press release from the Sheriff’s Department.
Nala, the police dog, located the suspect, 42-year-old Frederick Sibley, in a vehicle several hundred yards from the scene of the burglary about 30 minutes after responding, Sheriff Clint Walker said Wednesday.
Sibley was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact of residential burglary. Other charges are pending.
Nala also located the stolen TV as well as cocaine, methamphetamine, ecstasy and a handgun.
Walker said these items were found in the area but would not elaborate.
Bond was denied for Sibley, who was already out on bond after being arrested on felony drug charges in Carroll County. He remained jailed at the Carroll Montgomery Regional Correctional Facility as of Wednesday afternoon.
