Three people have been arrested and charged in the shooting death of a Greenwood teenager.
Police Chief Terrence Craft said James Earl Cason, 19, Darius Sims, 17, and Terry Williams, 15, all of Greenwood, have each been charged with one count of capital murder in connection to the death of Johnny Cage, a 15-year-old Amanda Elzy High School student.

All three were being held Tuesday at the Leflore County Jail. Bond has been denied.
Cage died Friday at his home as a result of a gunshot wound.
According to Craft, Cason, Sims and Williams allegedly conspired to rob Cage’s residence at M.A. Snowden-Jones Apartments at 1620 Main St. on Friday morning.
He said it is believed the trio were after weapons. He said Sims is accused of being the “mastermind” behind the robbery.
The robbery went bad, Craft said, and Cage reportedly went for a gun and was allegedly shot by Cason in the process.
Cage was found dead at approximately 9:40 a.m.
His mother, Jasmine Cage, expressed grief and anger at her son’s death, saying that the 15-year-old “did not deserve this.”
She wants justice for her son and said she wants the suspects to be punished.
“Those other parents, they can still see their children,” she said, referring to the three teenagers who were charged. “Their children are still above ground, even though they’re locked up. For my son, he’ll be below ground within the next two weeks. I will never get to see my son again, and I hate it. I hate it.”
Johnny Cage
Brandice Brown, Johnny Cage’s theater teacher at Amanda Elzy, described him as “an all-around great kid.”
“As a student, he was extremely fun-loving,” she said. “He was a joy to be around. When he walked into the room, he lit up any room that he walked into. He always had a great spirit about himself. Extremely respectful. Extremely mannerable.”
Jasmine Cage said that her son “will forever live on. I will always keep his name alive.”
Johnny Cage’s death is the third homicide of the year in Leflore County, according to reporting by the Commonwealth.
