Noah Beck pumped in 26 points as Carroll Academy improved to 2-0 with a 60-35 win over Kirk Academy Tuesday night in Carrollton.
Beck, a senior guard, made six 3-pointers against the Raiders, who trailed 15-4 after the first frame, 30-13 at the half and 47-22 after the third period.
Landon Grantham tacked on 12 points, and Drake Dunn and Mathis Beck had six points each.
In the girls game, Kirk won 48-25 as it led 16-5 after one, 35-5 at the half and 48-15 after the third.
Anna Laken Taylor had eight points for the Lady Rebels (1-5), and Bella Carter and Ann Shelby Whitworth tallied five points each.
In the junior varsity girls game, Kirk won 36-15. Kenzi Reeves and Maggie Carter had four points each for CA, and Carly Beth Bullard had three points.
In the junior varsity boys game, Carroll came out on top 31-24 as it led 3-0 after one, 11-8 at the half and 19-15 after the third. Logan Upchurch had 11 points, and Cohen Blaylock and Collin Hurst had eight points each.
Carroll plays host to Regents School Nov. 28.
-Pillow Academy: The trip to Madden was a long one as Leake Academy took four games from visiting Pillow Academy Tuesday night.
In the varsity girls game, Leake claimed a 61-44 win as it led 16-12 after the first, 33-22 at the half and 43-33 after the third frame.
Avery Howard led Pillow (2-2) with 17 points, four steals and two assists. Elise Howard tacked on 11 points, seven boards and three steals.
In the varsity boys game, Leake won 59-35 as it led 24-8 after the first quarter, 45-23 at the half and 53-35 after the third.
John Heston Powers had seven points and five rebounds, and Matthew Ryan Smith tacked on seven points and three assists. Grayson Jones had six points and three rebounds for the Mustangs (0-2).
In the junior varsity girls game, Pillow lost 52-12. Jane Kimmel Buford had six points and five rebounds for Pillow (2-2).
In the JV boys game, Leake won 29-28 as it held off the Mustangs in the fourth period. Leake led 15-9 at the half and 23-17 after the third frame. Trace Harrell had 14 points and five assists, and Charlie Dunn chipped in eight points and six rebounds. Aiden Valente had six points, five rebounds and four assists.
Pillow is at East Rankin Thursday.
-Delta Streets Academy: The Lions battled to the end before dropping a 47-43 decision to Delta Academy Tuesday night at DSA.
Kamarion Watson had 13 points and three assists for DSA (1-6), and Kamron Hurt tacked on 10 points and three assists.
Malique Davenport tallied nine points and grabbed eight rebounds.
In the JV game, Delta won 38-34. Zion McDaniel led the Lions with 13 points and 10 boards, and Jordan Meeks had 11 points and eight rebounds.
Delta Streets, which had Friday’s game against Riverside canceled, will hosts Pillow’s boys Tuesday with the junior varsity game starting at 2 p.m. and the varsity game to follow.
