A second teenager has been arrested in connection with the burglary of the home of a Greenwood homicide victim.
On Thursday, police charged Albert M. Jones, 17, 210 Barrentine St., as an adult with grand larceny auto and burglary of an occupied dwelling.
Jones is accused of stealing a car from the home of James Smith after the 50-year-old retired grocer was fatally shot last weekend. Smith was the city's second homicide victim of the year.
Police believe robbery was the motive in the shooting. Two of Smith's vehicles were reported missing and were later recovered by investigators.
According to Deputy Police Chief Huntley Nevels, Jones is not facing charges relating to the shooting of Smith, who was discovered by police early Sunday morning at his residence at 510 Ave. H.
Roderick Martez Prayer, 18, 1312 Jones St., and Willie James Kinds, 15, 307 Rear Broad St., have been arrested and charged with capital murder.
Bond for Prayer has been set at $450,000, while bond for Kinds has been set at $425,000, Nevels said.
A fourth suspect, Lorenzo Prayer, 21, 409 Barrentine St., has been charged as an accessory after the fact (capital murder), burglary of an occupied dwelling and two counts of grand larceny.
Nevels said all four suspects remained in Leflore County Jail this morning.
