CARROLLTON - The Carroll County School District has set guidelines for tuition and acceptance of transfer students this fall, as well as scheduling pre-registration days at all three schools.
Pre-registration starts July 24 and ends July 28. Hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. At that time, all fines incurred by returning students must be cleared, said Superintendent of Education Susan N. Murphy.
Also, effective this term, the school board approved a $500 per term fee for out-of-district transfer students.
"The non-refundable tuition is due and payable prior to being enrolled as a student in the Carroll County School District," Murphy said.
A transfer student must provide verification of release from the district where she or he lives prior to being accepted as a CCSD student.
The fee must be paid in the office of the superintendent at 603 Lexington Street and must be paid in full for either by cash, a money order, or cashier's check.
Transfer students must present the receipt for the paid tuition fee to the school principal or designee in order to enroll at a Carroll school, Murphy added.
Beginning day for students at all three schools, J.Z. George at North Carrollton; Marshall Elementary at North Carrollton; and Hathorn Elementary at Vaiden, is Aug. 14.
