The race for Leflore County Supervisor of District 5 is getting crowded.
Troy Brown Sr. announced his candidacy for the seat on Friday. Brown, 59, said in a release that he will run as an independent.
He is the fourth candidate to announce an intent to challenge the incumbent, Robert Collins. The three others are Derrick Chambers, Bertha M. Woods Sparks and Ulysses Kelly.
District 1’s Sam Abraham, a Republican, will be challenged by independent candidate Allen Thomas Mitchell of Greenwood.
Cora Denise Stewart Lowe, an independent on the Leflore County Election Commission representing District 4, and Emma Baker, who represents District 2, have both filed qualifying paperwork to run for reelection.
Candidates have also filed to run for elections in Carroll County.

- Tax assessor/collector: Chris Downs, Donna Gregg Harper and Tammy J. Inmon
- Sheriff: Clint Walker (incumbent), James Stovall, Milton Smith and Michael H. Peeples
- County prosecuting attorney: Lori Bell (incumbent)
- Justice court judge, Northern District: Ronnie Hicks (incumbent) and Greg Avant
- Justice court judge, Southern District: Tinesha Erve-Earnest (incumbent)
- Constable, Northern District:Joe Holman (incumbent) and Dustin Haddon
- Constable, Southern District: Roshaun Daniels (incumbent), Travis Oswald Gatewood and Demarcus Peeples
