Mississippi Valley State freshman Jade Arroyo has been named to the All- Southwestern Athletic Conference second-team softball unit.
The first-year third baseman played 39 games for the Devilettes. She led the team with a .358 batting average, which stands seventh out of all SWAC hitters. Along the way, Arroyo contributed 39 base hits, 20 RBIs, drew 10 walks, slugged .477 and earned an on-base percentage of .423. Her hit total and RBI count also cracked the top-10 in the conference.
At the annual Valley awards banquet, Arroyo was named team MVP and top rookie by Devilettes coach Lee Smith.
Arroyo was the lone player selected from Mississippi Valley in 2019.
