Former Ole Miss basketball guard Terence Davis has signed a free agent deal with the world champion Toronto Raptors.
Davis, who has been playing with the Denver Nuggets in the NBA’s summer league, had turned down offers from others that left open the possibility of him playing in developmental leagues.
In spite of impressing NBA scouts and rocketing up many mock drafts Davis was not selected in the June 20 draft.
“Tonight is my draft night,” Davis wrote on Twitter late Sunday.
As a senior Davis averaged 15.2 points and led the team in assists (3.5 apg) and rebounds (5.8 rpg). He is reportedly signing a two-year NBA contract that will be fully guaranteed in year one.
After going undrafted, Davis signed with the Utah Jazz. In his summer league debut on Sunday night, Davis scored 22 points on 8-for-13 shooting with five rebounds and three assists.
He was a second-team All-SEC player.
