NCPDD To Hold Hearing On Aging Programs

The North Central Planning and Development District/Area Agency on Aging will hold a Public Hearing for Aging Programs on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, from 10:00 a. m. until 12:00 noon in the Courtroom at Montgomery County Courthouse, Winona, Mississippi.

The purpose of this hearing is to allow the Area Agency on Aging and the Mississippi Department of Human Services the opportunity to inform interested persons about programs and services available for senior citizens in Attala, Carroll, Grenada, Holmes, Leflore, Montgomery, and Yalobusha counties.

The goals and objectives for Fiscal Year 2020 will be discussed and an update of current year activities will be presented.   Comments from the public are welcomed.

Community Action Agency will be holding a public hearing on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 9 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Jody Wilson Library 209 Martin Luther King Drive Greenwood, MS. The purpose of the meeting is to allow citizens of Leflore County to democratically select an individual to fill a vacant seat on CMl's Board of Directors that will represent low income individuals of the county.

The Board of Directors is required to have equal representation from the public, poor, and private sectors for all counties that make up CMl's service area-Attala, Carroll, Grenada, Holmes, Leflore, Montgomery, and Yalobusha.

PUBLIC NOTICE

Metro Area Community Empowerment (MACE) is submitting an application to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development for the purpose of obtaining funds to implement a Housing Preservation Grant program for the counties of Sunflower and Humphrey.

 

The Housing Preservation Program is designed to assist in the contribution of health and safety, alleviating over-crowding and well-being of residents that contribute to the structural integrity or long-term preservation of a housing unit.  Funds will be used to rehabilitate owner-occupied standard single-family houses.  The primary goal is to improve housing conditions by correcting housing deficiencies.  This includes the removal of health and safety hazards, complying with housing codes and standards and alleviating overcrowded conditions.

 

A “Statement of Activities” is available at Metro Area Community Empowerment (MACE),   859A Gore Road, Jackson, MS 39212 for review by any and all citizens.  The SOA can be reviewed at any time between 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
