New police chief
The city has a lot of qualified applicants in house for chief of police, but Mayor Carolyn McAdams says no. She wants a fresh face without ties to the Greenwood Police Department. I get that, but I don't.
Surely, Jody Bradley wasn’t the only applicant. I’m sure if there were other applicants, some had law-enforcement-officer training and experience. But the mayor thinks it’s a good idea to hire someone with no law-enforcement-officer training or experience and who has never attended the police academy. All he has done is work in jails, which is very different than working the streets.
Why no comment about The Marshall Project report? Did he just not want to talk about it, or is he trying to hide something?
