Editor, Commonwealth:

We were so sad to learn that the Greenwood Leflore Hospital Board had fired Dr. Jim Hardin. He was a noted urologist with patients coming from over a hundred miles to have his state-of-the-art medical care. He was always up to date on the latest in urology but was also a very caring and kind doctor.

There was no hint of pride, arrogance or laziness in him. He loved his patients and ethical medicine.

For years he cared for my dad in his struggle with cancer. He became part of our family and was there to the end.

What a pity that those who run our hospital don’t see the need for such physicians. Therefore, our community will suffer from such a loss. Hopefully soon we can travel to wherever he and his urologist son establish a new clinic.
