Earlier this week, we appealed for sponsors for the dozens of families and senior citizens who had not yet been spoken for in the Adopt-A-Family program that The Salvation Army and the Commonwealth conduct each Christmas season.

The response was immediate.

On Monday, 91 of the 274 families still had not been spoken for. By Thursday, not only had all 91 been adopted, but donations were given to cover at least seven more, with money still coming in.

This community has been supportive of this charitable effort since it started in 1980. We thank you for doing so again.

Greenwood is truly a giving place.
