If you’ve not already done your good deed for Christmas, or if you think you could do more, consider donating to the Adopt-A-Family program.

This annual charity, sponsored by The Salvation Army and the Commonwealth, provides food vouchers, clothing and, if there are young children in the household, toys for needy families in the greater Greenwood area.

As of Monday, 91 of the 274 families or senior citizens had not been spoken for.

This community has been generous to this program since its inception in 1980. In most years, every family on the list has been adopted. We believe it can happen again this year.

The cost to adopt is $75. A list of those still waiting for a sponsor is published in today’s edition on page 6.

Look it over. If you can help, please do.
