David Eugene Adams, 55, of Atoka, Tennessee, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020, at his residence. 

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Oak Grove Cemetery in Carroll County, with visitation from 9 until 10:30 a.m. at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood. The Rev. Roy Bush will officiate.

He was born July 15, 1964, to Meredith Burchett Adams and Georgia Frances Whatley Adams. He served in the United States Army and was a disabled veteran from the Iraq War. He loved hunting and flying remote-control airplanes. He was preceded in death by his mother.

He is survived by his father, Meredith Adams of Halifax, North Carolina; his stepmother, Meltha Adams of Halifax; his former wife, Shirley Adams of Atoka; brother Ronald Hale of Halifax; sister Ramona Soloman and her husband, Doug, of Durham, North Carolina; cousins Michael Whatley and his wife, Christi, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Pauline Perkins of Sidon; friend Steve Flanagan of Coila; stepchildren Shelby Goss, Stone Goss and Jade Rogers; and numerous cousins and relatives.

Military rites will be conducted by members of the Keesler-Hamrick-Gillespie American Legion Post 29, and they will serve as pallbearers.
